Black Volcanic Sand

Natural kiln dried black volcanic sand.

This fine sand provides aeration and porosity to the soil, helping retain the right amount of moisture in the soil. The sand is durable and resists degradation. Volcanic Sand which has paramagnetic qualities, helps to align the particles in the soil itself, this can increasing the fertility of the soil and can also improve drainage. A 50/50 mix of sand and seeds is particularly useful when sowing small seeds.

The sand will not stain hands, fabrics or paintwork, it is also colourfast and suitable for use underwater. Wash before use.

The sand is often used as a kiln dried sand for joint filling with grey granite and black block paving products. Approximately 15kg of sand can fill the joints on around 4-4.5 Sqm of 50mm thick block paving. The sand conforms to the requirements of BS7533 part 3 Table D4 – Jointing sand.
