Natural Palm Wax Stearin – 2.5 Kilo bag A wax entirely derived from palm trees, and thus 100% natural. Stearin is commonly used as an additive in candlemaking wax, offering several sought after advantages when making the ‘perfect’ candle. The addition of Stearin has several benefits: Stearin Hardens wax, giving candles tough outer shells and aiding the rigitity of the candle (also stops candles from slumping). This hard surface has an increased shine, which complements any addition of colour into the wax, giving the candle visual depth and consolidarity of colour. Increases the overall melting point of standard paraffin, leading to an Increase in burning time of candles. The standard mix of Stearin is 5-10%. Stearin can be mixed at higher proportions, up to a recommended maximum of 25-30%. Due to the acidic nature of Natural Palm Stearin, this wax should not be used on rubber moulds as damage can be caused.
